Differential Diagnosis of Hemroids
During diagnosis of hemroids, care should be taken to exclude other diseases that may present by symptoms similar to those of hemroids namely anal mass, and rectal bleeding. These diseases include anal tumors either benign, precancerous, or cancerous tumors, anal abscess, anal fissure, anal fistula rectal prolapse and pruritus ani.
Benign anal tumors of the anus include polyps which may be inflammatory, lymphoid, or skin tags and other rare tumors.
Potentially precancerous conditions include condylomas which are epithelial growths caused by infection with human papilloma virus.
Anal cancer presents usually by bleeding or mass near the anus.
